Alfred was born and raised in Smithfield, NC. He grew up in church and was
influenced by his parents and a godly grandmother who was faithful in love and
prayer. He started learning the guitar at age 12. At age 15 he was traveling on
weekends, making money playing his guitar. By the age of 18, fresh out of high
school, he played his first professional tour. He realized his childhood dream
of playing professionally was becoming a reality and he made a decision to
pursue music as a full time career.
Through the years Alfred toured Canada, most of the US, and Europe twice,
sharing the stage with many well known country and rock and roll artists. Alfred
moved out to the Dallas, Texas, area, still pursuing his dream wholeheartedly.
As passionate as he was about his music, he was equally as involved in drugs,
alcohol, and outlaw motorcycle clubs, being blinded by their lure and deception.
In 1994, the week before Christmas, Alfred was confronted by the Truth of Jesus
Christ and was literally brought to his knees. Alfred asked Jesus for
forgiveness of his sins and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. No longer using
his talents for his own glory, Alfred now uses what God has given him to glorify
Christ and Christ alone.
Psalm 28:6-7
Praise be to the LORD,
For He has heard my cry for mercy.
The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
And I will give thanks to Him in song.
